In celebration of World Book Day, I am once again teaming up with the Hungerford Bookshop to launch my short story competition for all primary school children in the Newbury constituency.
This year the theme is: “The day the King came to visit.”
Entrants must be primary school age and either attend a school in the Newbury constituency or live in the constituency. Stories can be up to 250 words for Years 1, 2 & 3 and up to 500 words for Years 4, 5 & 6.
Entries should be emailed to me directly at laura.farris.mp@parliament.uk before midnight on Monday 20th February by a parent, guardian or teacher and should include the following information:
- Name of child and name of a parent/ guardian.
- The age of the entrant
- Their full address
- Their short story, which can be up to 250 words for Years 1, 2 & 3 and up to 500 words for Years 4, 5 & 6. Please note that there is no minimum word limit and stories should be brief!
- The email address of their parent/ guardian.
I will pick two winners: one from Years 1, 2 & 3 and one from Years 4, 5 & 6. I will announce the winners on World Book Day (Thursday 2nd March) and they will receive a specially selected book from the Hungerford Bookshop.
